Volunteer options
Option 1
Make a birthday party box for a specific child
Click on the Birthday Calendar link in the main menu (or here) and select a child. Sign up by emailing us (or clicking here) your request to info@sharinghappybirthdays.org. We will get you the name and any additional information about your child. Click here to learn how to make a birthday box.

Option 2
Make a birthday party box of your choosing
Select any age, gender and theme. Create a box appropriate for that child. Click here to learn how to make a birthday box. Many organizations do not know what children will be celebrating birthdays in advance. We stock a variety of boxes, in bulk, to several organizations and the box you create will go to a child in need at one of them. Drop it off at one of our drop off locations.

How to make a birthday box
Step 1
Get a box
Items should go in a banker box or copy paper case box. A banker box is a cardboard file folder box with a lid. You can get one at any office supply store. Or, save a copy paper case box from your work and use it.

Step 2
Fill your box
Collect all the items on the list. Items must be new, unopened and non-perishable. Be creative and have fun with it!

More ways to help
Here are some ideas

- Recycle the decorations from your child’s birthday party. Add new paper products and treats.
- Ask for birthday supplies, gift cards, or cash donations instead of presents at the next birthday party you host.
- Donate a birthday box or cash donation in honor of someone you love’s birthday.
- Make a birthday box with your school class, church or club.
- Collect birthday items at your work. Designate a specific theme each month and make a box a month.
- Sponsor a birthday supply drive with your church or neighborhood. See how many boxes you can make with the items you collect.
- Collect cash donations for Happy Birthdays. It takes a tremendous amount of resources to keep Happy Birthdays operating. Every dollar helps us continue our mission of sharing birthday joy!
